all right good evening hello and welcome to our 2023 Springtime open house event the clarification this evening welcome session is being recorded and will be available for reference after tonight on a website my name is Steve Simpson and I am the proud principal of San Jacinto technology Institute and I am excited about San Jacinto Tech now progress since opening our doors a year-and-a-half ago more importantly I'm excited about our vision where we are heading as a school and ultimately what San Jacinto technology Institute is able to offer our families in the virtual learning environment I'd like to introduce some special guests that are with us tonight board President John Norman board vice president Jasmine Rubio board clerk Sandra penaloza board member Melissa Burnett board member trick Ojeda superintendent dr. David Pyle and cabinet members assistant superintendent of ed services John Roche assistant superintendent Business Services Seth Herron and assistant superintendent of Personnel Services dr. Karen Persinger thank you for being with us tonight at this time we were going reduce our very own seventh-grader Miss Allison Barajas to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance we are having issues with student Chromebooks being able to get into the zoom link so I'm going to go ahead and leave us in this but this time I do appreciate Allison thank you for your volunteer and we'll work through the issues as we go so if everybody would please rise and we will say the Pledge of Allegiance Handover are ready begin I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty justice for all thank you everybody and again I apologize for not having ours student able to get in she was excited to join us tonight We Begin this evening I'd like to take a moment to introduce my office team I believe that consistency build success and I am proud to say that my office team here that's jaytech has been as consistent as any Office Team I've ever been a part of with the addition this year of an instructional aide the rest of our team has been here since we opened our doors and their consistency shows as they work tirelessly to create a positive environment for students parents teachers and staff members with that said I'd like to introduce Miss Jennifer Robinson our office manager miscarry Barnett RPD specialist who provides support to our teachers and students must I use Dialga our attendance Clerk also does registrar work and duties as assigned Miss Mina Rodriguez are office Clerk and Miss LaRue LaRue we, miss LaRue Espinosa are instructional aide that we're proud and glad to have here on campus also thank you to all my teachers are that's jti I have never been part of a teaching team so dedicated to their craft and who are able to create a virtual learning environment where students and families are afforded the flex bility do learn in the context they have chosen to do so and best fits their family needs thank you all for your hard work and your dedication to our students I know everyone here tonight is excited to see all the wonderful things you are doing in your class and the activities you have planned for them thank you team for everything you do here that's jti I'd like to briefly discuss the numerous activities and events taking place between now and June here. this is a very busy time of year and before we know it summer break is going to be here last year at this time it was my goal to initiate some systems and programs that were sustainable effective and would create it positive impact on our students and families I believe we have begun that process and I'm excited to continue the work with our students staff District personnel and parents to make sgti a school everybody can be proud of our school why Brandon has begun new banners will be up soon promoting our school and will be visible from all directions of our school in addition we will have a new digital Marquee a light pole banners and very sjta signage improvements around campus of students and families who come to our school can see a definitive change in the visual landscape we have added a video information to the inside of our front office as well as Facebook Twitter and Instagram platform to promote and connect skati are virtual classrooms continue to be equipped with the most recent technology available for virtual instruction are incredible teaching staff how's use every resource available to them to establish an equitable and rigorous learning environment for every student in their classroom resources to create both core and Richmond experiences for stew are being utilized in implemented and I'm excited about the opportunities that lie ahead of us all as we partner together to make San Jacinto technology Institute the school of choice in the San Jacinto Unified School District I want to thank all of RS ATI parents and families for your support and encouragement to our students as they choose to learn in this unique learning environment and build relationships with their teachers and other sjt iced tea one of the day I am as we face as a virtual school is the balance between online and providing the social opportunities for students to grow in we have worked hard in this area and I believe we have initiated that balance and I'm excited to see how we can be are learning Labs have been refocused with more technological choices for students to participate in initially our goal was to provide a time for students to interact with others if the student and family chose to do so this year we provided many more technology-based learning opportunities during those learning lab times whether it's Esports with Doctor Williams robotics with Miss bourbeau drones with mister zipper or digital animation with miss us a gator it was our ability to provide for the social needs of students through these Labs did occur in addition our Middle School team provided several 6 through 8th grade social where students participated in activities and James Bolton alive and hybrid learning environment finally and most exciting for me moving forward has been our seasonal social events where parents students and staff school-wide meet and celebrate various activities and learning while we begin to build on more in-person events and activities or ask jtekt families are next and final social of the year the spring social is scheduled for Monday April 24th and I hope to see everybody there a springtime rolls around it is that time of year again to save your students eat here at ask jtekt for the fall of 2023 I would like to make everyone aware that are 20 23 2024 interest survey inside a blank is now available on our website many of you have already filled out the survey and I've saved your spot for the upcoming school year if you have not done so already please go to the survey link on our website and fill out the survey definitely want to make sure all current sjt I students have a spot saved for next school year before we begin accepting additional students and Families for those families who are securing and committing to asj Tech for the 2023 24 we're your student upon signing your contract will also be receiving a spiritpact this year as we kick off the new school year testing season is officially underway here that's jti we began help pack and I already end of year casting yesterday beginning Monday May 1st are testing window I believe that might be March 31st I apologize for that but the first two weeks of May basically our testing window will open and all students in grades three through eight will be taking various State assessment that are mandated for all students teachers have been working with students to ensure they understand how to access each test online with the state assessment window for s.j. t.i. opening our hope is that all that all of you have a conversation with your student about doing the very best they can and all of these assessment so we can best support their needs based on the data we received back getting proper sleep and breakfast as always would priority for each student the cast for the California assessment of student performance and progress is an indicator of progress toward career and college readiness tests are given Statewide and provide an opportunity to measure skills and learning that our students have done and we are able to use these results to improve the practices around teaching and learning it is very important that every student does their very best in every testing opportunity play Lee parents please mark your calendars May 30th through June 2nd we will be hosting s.j. Tech students in all grades for end-of-year material drop off contract signings and interview celebrations will be held more information regarding these events will be posted to our website and Community communicated to families via parentsquare also please use the link on our website to order your yearbook from this year the price is $15 plus tax and online purchase of of your books is our only option as we're not able to accept any form of payment here at the school so as we provide to go to classrooms tonight enjoy the exciting work of our students and teachers I wanted to take a moment to review our website and the information that is important for this evening as well as some of the other information we discuss the website links to specific teacher classroom sites for tonight are available your book sales there's a link for that that you can go in and buy the yearbook the parent interest survey where you can save your child seat next school year is available on the website as well and other technology tools for parents that are interesting and could be very helpful and can be found on the parents page under 2023 open house I would like to thank all of you for attending tonight and hope San Jacinto technology Institute is meeting your student and family educational needs at this time I'll be signing off and I'll let you enjoy the evening with your students and their teachers many teachers have already sent meeting links out directly to you possibly but for easy access visit our website they're all right there if not you can access the meet links right here through the website and with that said I want everybody to have a great evening thank you for joining us and ask Jay Tech
