This is a reminder that San Jacinto Technology Institute will be delivering the legally-mandated sexual health and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention education.
This year, every 7th grade student will be receiving instruction using the Positive Prevention Plus curriculum during their science class.
Students in grades 7 will begin their first day of instruction on May 15, 2024.
Information regarding this law and its requirements was included in your annual notification documents during registration. You will be receiving more information about the requirements and curriculum review as well as the option to exclude your student from these lessons. Should you wish to opt your child out, you will need to fill out the opt-out portion on the letter and return it to your science teacher. Students who opt-out will be given alternate assignments.
